What Water is a non-profit organisation founded in May 2021 in Luxembourg, and defines itself as an association building bridges between Europe and Central Africa by connecting artists and committed citizens of the world to provide access to water to populations in need, which is a crucial element for rural economic growth. What Water's goal is to provide drinking water to 8 million people by 2030, in support of the United Nations and its Sustainable Development Goals (Goals 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation" and 12 "Sustainable Consumption and Production").

What Water uses art as a means of expression to promote human rights, while raising funds to support concrete actions. Thanks to a network of artists committed to the cause of access to water, the association is able to raise funds through the sale of their works, for which a minimum of 50% is reserved for the association.

What Water also uses a model that works in partnership with local municipalities: for every euro invested in new infrastructure, the association requires an equal contribution from the partner municipalities.
